Collection: El Huarache Loco

Chef Veronica Salazar of Huarache Loco is a Mexico City–raised chef whose culinary journey is deeply rooted in family tradition and resilience. Growing up alongside 11 siblings in her family’s restaurant, she developed an early fascination with the creativity and passion her mother brought to the kitchen, an influence that continues to shape her cooking today. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, she set out to recreate the authentic flavors she felt were missing and launched her business through the La Cocina incubator before becoming its first graduate to open a brick and mortar restaurant. Her menu reflects decades of inherited recipes and techniques, from handcrafted huaraches to dishes inspired by her mother, all driven by a commitment to preserving the true taste and spirit of Mexico City cuisine while building a legacy that now inspires the next generation.
