Founded by Indonesian-American friends Feby Boediarto and Melati Citrawireja, is a Bay Area-based food company reintroducing authentic Indonesian-style tempeh to American audiences through craft fermentation and cultural storytelling. Inspired by their shared experiences growing up between cultures, the founders launched the company after struggling to find traditional tempeh in the U.S., eventually building a community around their small-batch, umami-rich recipes. Rooted in Indonesian culinary heritage while embracing California’s diverse food culture, Reculture Foods combines thoughtfully sourced ingredients, sustainable practices, and community-driven values to reshape perceptions of tempeh beyond its conventional.
