Volcano Kimchi is rooted in a deeply personal culinary tradition shaped by its founder, Aruna Lee, who was raised in a South Korean Buddhist monastery where food was guided by seasonality, simplicity, and care. Inspired by early memories of enjoying house-made kimchi crafted from locally grown vegetables, she carries forward those time-honored flavors and techniques. After moving to San Francisco, she brought this philosophy with her, blending tradition with a strong connection to the local community.
