Alicia's Tamales Los Mayas
Alicia Villanueva, originally from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, brings generations of tradition to her craft, having learned to make tamales alongside her mother and grandmother from a young age. After moving to the United States in 2001, she began selling tamales door to door as a way to share her culture and support her family, growing from making a few hundred a week to thousands today. Rooted in family, tradition, and community, Alicia continues to prepare her tamales with the help of her loved ones, creating food that reflects both her heritage and her journey, with the hope that every bite feels like being part of her family.
